Tips for
navigating the flickr photo pages
Note: The following screen images have links to their live pages on flickr so that you can see the actual page if you desire. Click your bowser's "Back" button to return to this page if necessary. Sets Flickr
"sets" are groups of photos arranged in a "set" or album. Each
set can be viewed in a variety of ways. When the set is initially
opened, it is presented as shown below:
To the right of the picture, you will see a browse box. In this example, it is labeled as "Janet Shoots Queens (Set)". Click on the right or left images to move backwards or forwards though the set. Click on "browse" to return to the set overview. In the example above, since you are viewing the first photo of the set, there are no previous images to select. Navigation Tips
From the Set overview page, you can also select "Detail view" as to open the set as shown below. From this page, you can click on any of the pictures to see a detailed view using the browse page. Set

From numerous flickr pages, you
can select "View as a slideshow" as shown below.
Anytime the set overview page or set detail view page is shown, you can
click on
"All his sets", or select from the most recent sets as shown below to
view other sets (or albums) of interest.Settings are available to start, stop, and adjust the speed of the slide show. Slideshow

Overview Page or Set Detail View Page (Lower)
If you click on "Ken Lenger's photos" as shown above, you will be presented with my photo stream page as shown below. The photo steam is the sequence of all photos (over 2000 at present) that I have uploaded to flickr, from newest to oldest. Note that the photos shown in the current photo stream may not be of any significant interest to you, so it is best to view pictures of intest by looking at the sets. Photostream

Another way to see pictures of interest to you is to view them by "tags". Tags are like keywords or labels that you can be added to a photo to make it easier to find later. If you are looking for pictures of Daniel, you can just click on "Daniel" tag to view all photos that have been tagged as such, even if they are in different sets. From my photo stream page, click on "Tags" to see a list of the tags I have used as shown in the example below. Tags

Downloading Pictures Anytime you are viewing a picture
detail page (shown below), you can click on the "all sizes" icon at the
upper left corner of the picture for a list of available image sizes,
including the original file as uploaded.

select the image size you are
interested in downloading, and then click on "Download the (selected)
size" and then select the "Save" button on the pop-up window to save
the file to your hard
drive.
