How to Resize a Picture

The following instructions are for Internet Explorer Version 6 running on Windows XP SP2. Other browsers and platforms may work differently.

1) Click here to open Irfanview

2) When asked "Do you want to run or save this file?", click on "Run".

3) If the following box appears, click on "Run".

4) Open the picture to be resized.

5) From the main Irfanview menu, click on "Image"

6) Select Resize/Resample from the Image menu

7) Enter the Width and Height for the new image size.
Note: most forum avtars work best with a size of 100x75 pixels.

8) Save the file under a new filename using eiither as a GIF or JPG file.
You can experiment with the settings for the results you want.

9) Your picture is now resized and available to upload to the internet or email.
